    Job Description

    Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Parts Counter Salesperson to be the first point of contact for our Parts Department. This individual would perform a variety of customer service, in store marketing, promoting, advertising and stocking duties for our Mack and Volvo parts lines. This is a second shift position, 11:30 AM - 8 PM, Tuesday through Saturday (Saturday hours 7:00 - 3:30).Essential Functions
    • Read catalogs, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices for diesel parts.
    • Determine replacement diesel parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
    • Receive and fill telephone orders for Mack and Volvo parts.
    • Fill customer orders from stock.
    • Prepare sales slips or sales contracts.
    • Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
    • Take inventory of stock.
    • Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
    • Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective diesel parts or refund money.
    • Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
    • Catalog and categorize parts for proper placement on the stock shelves
    Experience:
    • Ability to read and comprehend parts diagrams and a variety of parts cataloging systems
    • Previous parts counter sales experience, preferred diesel experience but will train if only auto parts experience.
    • Ability to train on the dealership's computer system.
    • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
