    In this position...
    As a member of a functional architecture team, you are responsible for the up-front system design work and decision-making inputs on all-new Ford & Lincoln products, including next-gen EV architectures. Our functional architecture team is responsible for suspension, steering, brakes, wheels/tires, and chassis systems. We're looking for an advanced chassis engineer to join the underbody systems architecture team.

    What you'll do...
    Create advanced design concepts of chassis components and systems (brakes, steering, suspension, wheels/tires/jacks) for Ford global vehicles and next-gen EV architectures.
    Lead new component design / package maturation in CAD. Examples are stampings, castings, forgings, coil springs, shock absorbers, bushings, ball joints, fasteners, active suspension systems, brake systems, and steering systems.
    Oversee architecture system integration & installation, working with body, electrical, powertrain, vehicle operations, and vehicle architecture.
    Perform strength analysis for various chassis components.
    Perform chassis system analysis for kinematics and compliances, working with vehicle dynamics and NVH attribute teams.
    Early supplier engagement/interface for advanced concepts.

    You'll have...
    Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or related degree.
    5+ years of engineering experience.
    2+ years of automotive chassis experience.

    Strong cross-functional & communication skills.
    Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
    Knowledge of mechanical integration & installation requirements, package & assembly.
    Experience with CATIA V5/V6 and 3DX is a plus.
    Experience with FEA (ANSYS or Hypermesh) is a plus.
    Experience with ADAMS is a plus.
    Experience with underhood / underbody / dash package & mechanical integration/installation a plus.
