Job Summary
Responsible for managing and implementing a strategic, measurable internal communications program that supports and advances the Memorial Hermann strategies, mission, vision and values.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, or related field
Licenses/Certifications:
(None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Five (5) years professional experience in organizational communications, preferably in a corporate or healthcare environment, including serving in a supervisory capacity at least two (2) years
Principal Accountabilities
- Designs, executes, and manages Memorial Hermann strategic, comprehensive internal and external communications programs.
- With Communications leadership, sets and maintains Memorial Hermann's graphic and editorial standards. Ensures quality and consistency in writing and design, reviews and approves internal and external communications.
- Works collaboratively with the Communications, corporate and hospital leaders, and other identified groups to achieve plan objectives.
- Develops and manages short and longterm communications objectives to capitalize on identified opportunities.
- Writes speeches and creates presentations for executives.
- Promotes teamwork and a spirit of cooperation among the division's staff, as well as with the other departmental divisions.
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and mentor staff.
- In collaboration with Communications leaders, prepares annual budget, monitoring expenses to ensure cost effective operations.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports departmentbased goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
- Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
