- MD or DO with board certification in an accredited specialty.
- 10 years of demonstrated academic experience as a clinical educator in a teaching hospital or residency program.
- Demonstrated success in developing, coordinating and/or implementing medical education programs as an institutional Vice President or Director of Medical Education, Designated Institutional Official, Residency Program Director, or Associate Program Director, Clerkship Director or Core Faculty member.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current national initiatives and developments in GME, CMS and other funding mechanisms for GME, and the rules and regulations governing accreditation for programs and institutional sponsors.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness; a collegial and collaborative management style; the ability to engage multiple and diverse stakeholders (internal and external) striving for excellence in medical education.
- Experience interacting with the ACGME or other educational accrediting bodies.
- Experience with innovative educational methodologies and health care delivery systems.
- Experience in budget and contract negotiations.
- Ability to support program leadership while advocating for residents and students.
