The
Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support in the operation of Virginia Health Services by installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer hardware, software, and data communications equipment, while supporting and training end users in the use of such equipment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Work with a wide variety of devices and technologies, Windows, Office 365 Suite, iOS, Android, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi.
  • A solid skillset with Apple products and device management software.
  • Respond to IT Tickets in a timely manner while ensuring end user is provided updates and follow through.
  • Regular communication and collaboration with other IT Team Members is a must.
  • Maintain documentation of IT processes and solutions to be shared amongst the IT Team.
  • Triage and prioritize tasks in quickly changing situations.
  • Deploy computers, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other electronic devices as needed.
  • Troubleshoot computer software and hardware issues and make repairs and updates, as necessary.
  • Provide outstanding and courteous technical support to employees about all assets of deployed IT.

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Exceptional customer service and multitasking skills, great attitude, and work ethic.
  • Associate degree in computer science and/or 2+ years' experience in an IT support role.
  • IT related certifications are a plus. (ITIL, A+, NET+, etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, network technologies, remote support tools.
  • Outstanding diagnostic, problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in English. Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to lift to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary.
  • Regular travel to the facilities will be expected.
