    Description
    SIGN ON BONUS
    Eligible new graduates - $2,000
    Eligible technologists with 1+ years of experience - $10,000
    This role focuses on ensuring patients' care and safety in the Operating Room (OR). The incumbent is responsible for performing routine and delegated tasks following Connecticut Children's standards and procedures.
    CLINICAL PRACTICE
    • Identifies core cases for assigned services.
    • Performs first scrub role, passing sterile instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
    • Anticipates surgeon's needs during procedures.
    • Distinguishes between core and specialty cases.
    • Assists in tasks like holding retractors and applying electrocautery under supervision.
    • Ensures accurate inventory of items at the sterile field.
    • Assists in preparing supplies for cases.
    • Responsible for preparing and administering drugs and solutions.
    • Identifies specific care needs based on patient's age.
    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assists in maintaining supplies, equipment, and facilities in the OR.
    • Helps in setting up the operating room and positioning patients.
    • Demonstrates proper equipment sterilization.
    • Supports post-surgery care including applying dressings.
    • Commits to continuous learning and professional development.
    • Promotes cultural sensitivity in all interactions.
    • Ensures adherence to organizational standards and values.
    • Education Required: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
    • Required Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (or within 6 months of hire).
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
