    Design Engineer Bridge -Buffalo, NY, US

    The Design Engineer Bridge role presents an exciting chance for an engineer to lead engaging projects and enhance their skills in developing and advancing designs, planning, estimating costs, and obtaining permits for infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing our communities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues effectively.
    • Provide direction for project implementation.
    • Schedule and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
    • Generate and review design calculations.
    • Coordinate with technicians to create design drawings and specifications.
    • Develop construction cost estimates.
    • Engage with clients during project meetings and conferences.
    • Conduct fieldwork, including design reconnaissance, site visits, and construction observation.
    • Ensure timely completion of high-quality work adhering to Erdman Anthony Civil design standards and business management manual.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
    • New York State Professional Engineer (PE) License (or eligibility to obtain one in New York).
    • 5+ years of relevant technical design experience in structural engineering (with a preference for bridge engineering).
    • Experience in developing and/or reviewing bridge analysis calculations and design details.
    • Familiarity with AASHTO and NYSDOT design standards.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or InRoads.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and related tools.
    • Familiarity with Structural Design Software like STADD, CSiBridge, MDX, etc.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with engineering staff, project managers, and supervisors.
    • Willingness to conduct site visits for observation and field measurements as required for each project.
