Agile software development environment
UES is hiring data engineers to develop software solving challenging aerospace engineering data applications. An understanding of aerospace (or mechanical) design and engineering knowledge/experience is essential for success.
You will be a leader/developer working directly with Air Force and industry customers along with other software developers to create new digital engineering data management/manipulation tools to meet the Digital Engineering objectives for the Air Force's newest Agile Software Factory - Hangar 18.
We are looking for experienced data engineers with the rich skills in both physical engineering and software development to build cloud-scale, cross-domain capabilities to support all aspects of the digital engineering process including tools and methodologies to leveraging data to enable improved designs, materials/structural analyses, testing, manufacturing/assembly planning and execution, mission tracking and sustainment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product owners and other software teams to develop innovative solutions data conversion/management solutions that meet product life cycle management and digital engineering use cases.
Independently design, code, and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes.
Be responsible for functionality, performance, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to deliverable goals and budgets.Help establish next generation state-of-the-art digital engineering support tools.
Successful candidates will have excellent oral and written communication skills and will be excited to work in a collaborative environment with engineers from different technical backgrounds.

This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in data engineering involving numerical, graphical, textual and unique data formats and archiving structures.
Practical experience is paramount .BS Degree in Computer Science, or related field of study or demonstrated proficiency in software development.
BS Degree in Engineering (mechanical, aerospace, etc.) or demonstrated competency in these domains
Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Demonstrable organization and time management skills are required.
This position will require careful attention to detail & technology risk analysis.
