The Role


Radiological Control Technicians (Monitors) perform surveillance of radiological work areas to detect and document the level and type of ionizing radiation/radioactivity in accordance with radiological control regulations.

Performs and documents air, water, solid and surface radioactivity/radiation surveys using instruments designed to detect type and level of activity.

Monitors also determine usage and maintenance of nuclear containment apparatus and respond to radiological incidents to ensure employee and environmental safety.

Work is performed in the shipbuilding construction environment involving exposure to outside temperatures (both summer and winter), confined spaces, and elevated work areas.

In addition, crawling, lifting, climbing vertical ladders and wearing respiratory equipment will be expected.

Provide transcript to reflect successful completion of algebra, geometry, biology and chemistry. Associate Degree in Applied Sciences Prior military experience
