EMPLOYMENT TYPE

This position is an unclassified, Dual-Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system, working an average of 40 hours per week throughout the calendar year.

Annual hours worked will not exceed 2,078.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

:

The starting wage for this role will be $19 - $21 per hour, based on qualifications.

A comprehensive fringe benefits package, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance is available after a minimum employment period is met.

Paid time off for vacation, holidays, etc. is _not _
included as part of the benefits package.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

:


  • Adhere to marketing and communications content calendar
  • Maintain various established brand voices based on origin of content
  • Work closely with digital marketing agency of record to ensure best use of tools and gather impactful insights

Communications Coordination

:


  • Track media exposure and interviews using Critical Mention and other agencyprovided tracking and monitoring tools providing realtime feedback and analytics
  • Create biweekly marketing and communications reports using a variety of agency provided tracking and monitoring tools to be shared with key stakeholders
  • With Director of Public Relations, create and maintain interview tracking system
  • Maintain media contact database staying uptodate on media personnel changes in the our advertising markets
  • Use creative thinking to generate new ideas and tactics for compelling and effective marketing campaigns
  • Provide information and input for frequently asked questions documents and reference guides provided to the yearround Guest Services team to ensure accuracy in answering questions
  • Assist team of spokespersons to ensure fulfilment of contractual obligations relating to media interviews
  • Provide detailed media coverage recaps to various departments for use in postevent presentation
  • Contribute to list of photography assets needed for yearround State Fair Park marketing efforts including Milwaukee Mile; take photos as needed with marketing and advertising needs in mind
  • Contribute to annual list of photography assets needed for State Fair marketing efforts; take photos as needed with marketing and advertising needs in mind
  • Stay wellversed on everchanging marketing trends, especially in the event and tourism industries

QUALIFICATIONS

:


  • Strong planning, communication, time management, organizational, and administrative skills
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field is preferred
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize and effectively communicate results
  • Ability to withstand an everchanging, fastpaced environment, remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive, cando attitude
  • Event planning and execution experience is preferred
  • Prior experience working with and WordPress programming is preferred
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, at times leading up to and during the Wisconsin State Fair, Harvest Fair, and other Wisconsin State Fair Park promoted events
  • Knowledge of the Fair and agriculture industry also a plus, though neither are required

SPECIAL NOTES

:


Contingent on business needs and the seasonality of WSFP, up to 2 days of remote work per week is available after an initial training period.

Remote work will be discussed during the interview stage. High speed internet access is needed to meet the requirements of remote work.
