We are currently seeking full-time Bakery Apprentices to join our Customer Service and Sales team.

This position reports to the Bakery Manager and works closely with teammates and staff at all levels of the organization.

The Bakery Apprentice ensures operational excellence through the quality baking of products, maintains facility cleanliness and organization, sets daily proofs, performs daily food service production, produces various sourdough pastries for all Proof Bread locations, and promotes sales by educating customers on our unique sourdough products.

Key Responsibilities, _include but are not limited to_:

Customer Service
*Create aesthetically pleasing product displays to entice customers to make purchases *Greet every customer in an authentically friendly, proactive, and welcoming manner *Have a strong understanding of and educate customers on all Proof products with corresponding talking points to help encourage sales *Actively build relationships with clientele to encourage repeat business and maintain positive reputation for Proof Bread in the community *Promote ways to find, use, and store Proof Bread *Package orders and handle ready-to-eat product with respect and adherence to food safety standards *Craft quality made-to-order coffee and tea beverages for customers *Maintain cleanliness and order of customer areas, restock and face retail fridges, and fill displays *Enter daily inventory for online orders by 7am *Operate a Point of Sale and handle cash with maximum accuracy *Close cash register and customer service areas according to company standards and perform end-of-day reporting *Wash all dishes, sanitize all customer areas and counters, sweep and mop floors *Prepare leftovers and manage community donations at end-of-day closing *Promptly report issues to management or leadership

Bakery Production (Baking):

*Understand sourdough process and how to judge acceptable fermentation for baking readiness *Operate commercial ovens and bake breads, pastries, and pizza according to set timelines and baking parameters *Top, decorate, and prepare pastries for customer display *Top and prepare pizza and other food service items for customer consumption in accordance with food safety and company quality standards *Monitor items for quality control and report any issues to management *Work in an organized fashion with an emphasis on time and task management *Consider needs of other departments and prepare for next shift success *Organize products for daily transfer and accurately complete transfer logs *Wash all dishes, sanitize all FOH production counters, sweep and mop floors *Uphold cleanliness of production areas and perform facility and equipment maintenance routines *Help BOH team with ad-hoc tasks as needed

Qualifications:

Must produce a valid ID and food handling certification
Must show 2 years of verifiable customer service and cash handling experience
Must be good multitasker, time manager, and team player
Work weekends and stay until all tasks are completed
Ability to maintain a friendly attitude and push towards positive conflict resolution even when dealing with disgruntled customers
Position may require safely operating lift gates on box trucks on occasion (training to be provided as needed)
Should be able to lift 50 lbs without complication
Must be able to stand for the entirety of a shift

Available shifts and compensation:
Available shifts all days except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Compensation is $ $16.00/hour.
