Technical Solutions Specialist - (based in Los Angeles or New York)

Summary:

Disguise is a fast-growing company that sells their products and services to high-end and complex events, shows and installations.

Our product range is an integrated visual video production suite that has been used on productions such as the Sphere, Grammys, Coachella, Olympics, Ed Sheeran Tour, Taylor Swift Tour, The Rolling Stones, Brit Awards, Eurovision, NHL Studios, ESPN and many others.


The Technical Solutions Specialist is a member of the Americas (AMER) Technical Solutions team and is responsible for the development, presentation and drive of Disguise technical solutions to support the sales team in reaching its goals.

Using a combination of Disguise and non-Disguise offerings, services, assets, hardware and software products, the Technical Solutions Specialist (TSS) assists with communicating the value of the solution for opportunities which meet customer requirements and assist in solving their business problems.


Technical Solution Specialists are expected to spend 50-80% of their time in face to face discussions with clients, both in person and remote.

Expect 3-4 days a week to be based in the office which could be in Los Angeles or New York.

They will work alongside and sell through Sales partners, Studio, Rental and Solution partners, providing clients with an exceptional understanding of the disguise workflow.

The TSS is AMER wide and therefore not limited to one market or geography. The TSS is utilized by sales team members in technical situations.

Key activities and responsibilities include:


  • Partner the Sales Team on maximizing sales through joint visits, demonstrations, key meetings and technical support on quotations
  • Articulating the business and technical value of our solutions and products to senior managers and technical decision makers
  • Propose the Disguise product(s) to solve business challenges faced by our customers, supported by demo projects, presentation material and internal and external solution documentation
  • Positioning our technical solutions in competitive scenarios
  • Remove technical barriers and assist to motivate sales teams by conveying key USPs
  • Participate in the design & build of AMER Trade Show, Roadshows and Open House events
  • Produce system schematics, 3rd party solutions documentation and project proposals to support the sales process
  • Operating the disguise LA XR Stage
  • Configuring and calibrating camera and camera tracking solutions
  • Programming disguise demo projects
  • Aiding Sales demonstrations
  • Submit feature requests based on customer feedback and industry insight

Essential Skills

  • Comfortable in both a technical dialogue and commercial setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills
  • On set experience in live events, film and/or tv production
  • Product sales experience, ideally in a technical capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Selfmotivated and have the ability to network across departments
  • Personable and a team player, who is able to work under their own initiative
  • Organized, diligent and reliable worker
  • Exceptional time management, organizational and analytical skills
  • Be task lead and manage things to completion to deadlines
  • Ability to collate and share data across departments and team
  • Enthusiasm for working in an international, collaborative and fastpaced environment
  • A genuine interest in technology and ability to quickly learn new technologies and workflows
  • Be able to travel regularly for periods of time as the business needs across AMER region
  • Being able to inspire sales teams with new features and USPs to update sales teams' knowledge
  • Motivated to extend the value of a project by up selling where possible in a disguise solution, in partnership with the wider Sales team
  • Excellent spoken & written English
  • Strong presentation skills
  • A passport and ability to travel

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in using disguise or other media server solutions
  • Experience in using Unreal, Unity, Notch, or other realtime environments
  • Knowledge of lighting and video systems within the live events, film, or broadcast industries
  • Knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, UDP, etc.
  • Experience in using diagramming tools such as Lucidchart or Vectorworks
  • Experienced and comfortable in 3D software such as Blender, Maya, C4D
  • Track record of producing results
  • Product or solutions strategy develop
