Job Summary
The successful candidate will have the important responsibility of leading and managing the Payroll Training and Development Team and Process.
They will train and develop the staff in order to improve accuracy and efficiency of payroll operations and systems, provide superior internal and external customer service, ensure integrity, and an increased understanding of Compass payroll business processes.
Successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Implement tactics to improve retention and reduce turnover year on year
Managing all aspects of the payroll training operations in a complex environment
Provide subject matter expertise to training team for development of training tools
Assist with documentation of system changes and impact on training materials cross department
Review of training material and tools for all system applications
Assess changes needed to training material and documentation based on regulatory and process changes
Provide training to department teams to include:
New hire training and tracking
Specific team training and sharing of information related to system or process changes
Payroll System training including MySTAFF and SAP
Wage and hour regulations including sector related policies
Payroll related regulatory changes
Assist with the training of field managers - Key topics include:
MySTAFF /MyRequests system training
Sector entitlement policies as they relate to MySTAFF
Compliance risk related to MySTAFF misuse
Wage and hour regulation - Federal & State
Maintain knowledge base articles for MyRequests
Update information/messages on Payroll or Payroll related websites - MySTAFF, MyCompass
Coordinate Summer Intern Program
Coordinate department recruitment

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of training experience
3+ years of payroll experience preferred
Successful track record of reengineering processes to improve controls and efficiencies
Exceptional leadership qualities with a hands-on approach to developing and motivating individuals and a team
Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral, written and presentation) and ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Knowledge of SAP and Time and Attendance experience
Ability to be flexible in a changing environment and to handle multiple tasks
Ability to work extended hours without advanced notice and work under pressure within strict time constraints
Initiative and a passion for Training and Payroll
Travel ~ 10-15%
