    About Neurodiagnostic Institute:

    The Neurodiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center (NDI) is located on the Community Hospital East campus in Indianapolis delivering advanced evaluations and treatments for patients with psychiatric illness.
    Together the NDI and the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) offer a modern, healing atmosphere for all Hoosiers.


    Salary Statement:

    The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,320.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

    A Day in the Life:

    The essential functions of this role are as follows:

    • Meet with subordinates to discuss and improve treatment problems associated with individual cases, program or service line policy or standards of professional disciplines.
    • Assume responsibility over the social services discipline for all service lines.
    • Review work of subordinates and students to ensure quality and accomplishment of goals.
    • Coordinate and provide clinical training programs for students enrolled in field experiences.
    • Participate in individual and or group counseling or psychotherapeutic programs for inpatients and families.
    • Participate in hospital wide committees, integrated assessments, patient care monitors and case conferences.
    • Conduct professional development activities for staff and students.
    • Prepare and supervise subordinates and students' preparation of social histories, individual treatment planning conferences, discharge records and other materials related to treatment and transition.
    • Familiarize family and patients with hospitalization and social service programs.
    • Register families for insurance and other related treatment and hospitalization requirements.
    • Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
    • Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

    What You'll Need for Success:

    You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

    • Maintain certification as established by professional practice board.
    • Thorough knowledge of community social service agencies and ability to supervise and plan the coordination of social service programs with other related agencies.
    • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of principles and practices of psychiatric social work including social adjustment and rehabilitation, mental illness, personality development, casework, group counseling work and community placement.
    • Working knowledge of the role of other treatment disciplines and ability to effectively coordinate interdisciplinary approach to treatment.
    • Working knowledge of administrative and personnel techniques as related to the supervision and direction of programs.
    • Demonstrate the ability to train, supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates.
    • Ability to analyze program needs and effectiveness and to formulate plans for change to more adequately carry out the mission of the service lines.
    • Demonstrate the ability to formulate and implement individual treatment plans and to insure the effective execution of such by treatment staff.
    • Ability to counsel and communicate effectively with patients, their families, other treatment staff and representatives from the community.
    • Ability to assess patients' needs, assess and document their progress, and change or amend treatment plans to effectively meet patients' needs.
    • Demonstrate the ability to train professional and paraprofessional staff regarding effective social work methods and standards.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
    • Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.

    Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

    This role may provide direct supervision for one or more staff members.
