Primary Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Business Manager, to administer the school district's accounting, bookkeeping and payroll activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and invoices, and the timely processing, submission, and payment of invoices, expenses and payroll in accordance with school district policies and practices as well as applicable laws and regulations.
Administers the school district's administer the school district's accounting and payroll activities, including the processing of invoices for payment, and inputting and maintaining data and information into the accounting system regarding accounts payable to ensure records are accurate and up-to-date.
Inputs and processes payroll information in accordance with established practices; assuring accurate program and funds distribution for timely and accurate payment of district employees.
Inputs and maintains all information into the payroll processing system regarding federal and state taxes, as well as all deductions (e.g., retirement, health insurance, dues).
Coordinates with district personnel for the purpose of setting up and maintaining payroll services and/or programs.
Assists in implementation of assigned programs and projects for the purpose of conforming to administrative, state and/or federal requirements.
Assists with recommendations for policies, procedures and/or actions for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the district's payroll objectives.
Updates payroll information (e.g., changes to wages/salaries, deductions) annually as needed.
Prepares and distribute all annual tax information (i.e., W-2 statements).
Inputs information regarding attendance for posting and reporting.
Composes a variety of materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, procedures, manuals, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information regarding expenses, balances, etc.
Reviews requisitions and purchase orders and reconciles/approves as necessary.
Researches discrepancies regarding the accuracy of invoice amounts for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and implementing corrective measures, communicating with vendors or others as needed to reconcile and issues.
Assists in the salary and benefits amounts for future budgets.
Assists with composing correspondence as needed for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information regarding accounts payable issues, balances, etc.
Assists in banking and other financial transaction activities as required.
Assists in ensuring the reliability of key operating data through period audits and corrective action.
Reconciles cash accounts and general ledger expense accounts as directed.
Additional Duties
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the accounting system.

Works in standard office building environments.
Qualification Profile
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, with course work in business, math, accounting, bookkeeping and recordkeeping.
Successful payroll or accounting experience, generally a minimum of two years.

$19-$21 DOE
