Description

Transportation Manager
Major Food Distributor located in Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx is looking for a Full-Time Transportation Manager.

The applicant for this position must be experienced, a team player, with demonstrated ability to motivate staff and successfully promote change through leadership.

Ensure that all routes are running on time and frequently check in with Drivers to see if assistance is needed
Report to Customer Service any delays in delivery
Ensure that all pickups are assigned, and Drivers are aware of completing backhauls when asked
Communicate issues to management for timely resolution
Cross train with other supervisors to ensure coverage in all areas
Ensuring truck maintenance at the end of each shift
Ensure all Drivers are in compliance with the Nebraskaland uniform requirements
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations (Hours of service)
Create and distribute On-Time reports
Conduct a Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspection on vehicles daily

Work Environment:

Must be willing to work occasional on Saturdays

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of relevant experience
Bilingual (fluent in English & Spanish) a plus
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
Ability to work under pressure, multitask and think outside of the box to find quick resolutions
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, outlook)

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

Experience with Retalix, Extend Data, GPS Tracking system a plus

Regular attendance and punctuality
