    Overview:

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    As a part of the Quality and Compliance team, the Quality Improvement Specialist is a crucial member of a team responsible for executing the organization's Quality Improvement Plan adhering to Sound, contractual, and accreditation standards.

    Engages in activities to assess and enhance the quality and efficiency of services, focusing on areas such as utilization management, customer satisfaction, performance metrics, and outcome evaluation.

    Key responsibilities include managing critical incidents, handling client complaints, conducting clinical chart reviews, providing documentation training, validating encounter data, and preparing for audits.

    This role requires high skills and great responsibility, with work conducted independently with minimal supervision.



    Responsibilities:

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Support the delivery of quality services within healthcare reform and accreditation standards.
    • Participate in developing a comprehensive quality improvement plan.
    • Handle critical incident reports and report to external parties.
    • Resolve client complaints in collaboration with clinical leadership.
    • Manage the clinical chart review process.
    • Provide documentation training and develop related materials.
    • Validate encounter data and support best practices implementation.
    • Prepare for external audits, site reviews, and investigations.
    • Ensure improvement activities are documented and reported internally and externally.
    • Offer technical assistance and training on documentation requirements to staff.
    • Initiate performance improvement projects.

    Demonstrate problem-solving, leadership, conflict management, and team-building skills to maintain a productive work environment.

    Interact professionally, showing respect for individual and cultural differences.

    Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

    Understand behavioral health recovery concepts.

    Perform any other assigned duties.



    Qualifications:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Preferred:
    MSW or Master's degree in psychology or a related field with 3 years of direct service experience; or equivalent combination of education & experience.

    Preferred:
    Mental Health Professional Status.
    Must have knowledge and training in the designated program area, supervision, and administration.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    • Must obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 30 days of hire.
    • Pass a criminal background check.
    • Hold a WA state driver's license and have reliable transportation.

    Salary range:
    $30.60 per hour.
