Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 2nd Shift Tool Maker II to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 761.

This position has a starting hourly wage of $27.53, plus an additional 4.5% shift premium.


This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The first half ($1,000) is payable after successful completion of the orientation period and the second half ($1,000) is payable after one year of employment.
The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 3:00PM-11:30PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may become a possibility or even required.

When working overtime, the regularly scheduled shift is adjusted by 1-2 hours at either the beginning or end of the regularly scheduled shift.

Overtime may also be requested or mandatory on Saturday as well.

Summary - Will be responsible for the set-up and operation of various types of manual and CNC machines, as well as any tool grinding/sharpening that may be required. Must be able to read and comprehend all types of blueprints and documents. Under the direction of the Tool room Supervisor / Tool room Coordinator, will perform most of the operations involved in the making of fixtures, jaws, specialty gages and cutting tools. Must have the ability to perform the inspection of machined tools and parts with all types of measuring equipment. Proficiency in math and computer skills is also required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:

  • Learning the operation and set-up of various types of machines in the Tool Room both manual and CNC. Can load and run the CNC equipment. Proficient in the use of the manual lathe, including threading.
  • Requires ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions.
  • Requires ability to comprehend/interpret all types of blueprints and specifications.
  • Requires ability to perform all tool grinding and sharpening duties.
  • Requires knowledge of all types of measuring equipment used in the Tool Room
  • Assist in the process and operation of machines used in the Tool Room.
  • Requires routine maintenance of machines, which will include the oiling of machines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department in a prescribed manner.
  • Required to have various types of Toolmaker tools needed to perform their assigned tasks. This can include basic micrometers, calipers, 6" scale, protractor/square, 123 blocks and a tool box.
