Philip Lutheran School (2500 W Bryn Mawr Ave, Chicago) is a private PreK - 8th day school bordering the Arcadia Terrace/West Ridge neighborhood - a lovely residential area on the far north side of Chicago.

Main Responsibilities:

• Nurture the JOY of learning joy of reading, joy of math, joy of discovery every day
• Plan and execute lessons well; administer appropriate assessments and grade accordingly; communicate grades accordingly
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Manage student behavior and ensure a safe learning environment
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure continuity of instruction

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of child development and educational principles
• Some experience working with elementaryaged children desired (student teaching acceptable)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, flexibility, and adaptability in a small classroom setting
• Familiarity with differentiated teaching strategies is a plus
• As St. Philip is faithbased school, we seek a teacher who is a Christian.

Salary Range - $40K - $43K/annual plus med and retirement benefits
