Job Title: Customer Service Representatives - Transportation Department at Boston Public Schools

Company Overview: Boston Public Schools is the largest school district in Massachusetts, serving approximately 57,000 students with a $1.2B budget. The Transportation Department plays a crucial role in providing school choice and improving equity in the system by safely transporting over 30,000 students daily to 200 schools across the Boston area.

Description: Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) at Boston Public Schools are the main point of contact for many parents with the school district. They are responsible for providing superior customer service to individuals contacting the department via various channels such as email, phone, chat, or in person. CSRs also manage online support tickets and navigate department systems to address inquiries, resolve issues, and handle complaints effectively.

Responsibilities:

Manage inbound and outbound calls efficiently.
Understand callers' needs, research issues, and provide solutions.
Document all interactions accurately.
Engage positively with families from diverse backgrounds.
Meet call metrics and service level agreements.
Multi-task using various systems in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborate with parents, principals, and external stakeholders.
Participate in meetings, training, and performance reviews.
Maintain attendance and professionalism.

Qualifications Required:

High school diploma/GED.
Strong communication and multitasking skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Google Suite.
Ability to stay calm under pressure.
Problem-solving mindset.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Fluency in English and at least one other language.

Qualifications Preferred:

Experience in call centers or customer service.
Background in Computer Science.
Associate's degree.
