- Manages the company's procurement activities, providing strategic leadership to the team as well as overseeing day to day procurement and purchasing operations
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures for the Procurement team utilizing industry best practices
- Identifies opportunities to reduce expenses and increase efficiencies
- Manages the preparation of all RFQ documents, including notice and instructions to bidders, specifications, and forms of proposal
- Ensures all issues and problems with incorrect orders, invoices and shipments are handled appropriately
- Prepares contracts and manages contract adjustments with suppliers
- Develops relationships with suppliers to resolve delivery and quality concerns
- Establishes and documents procedures related to inventory, maintenance and purchasing
- Ensures appropriate documentation of all transactions and interactions with suppliers
- Monitors and forecasts upcoming levels of demand
- Provides reporting for executive leadership team
- Perform costing evaluations on multiple supplier bids, taking into consideration the total cost of ownership and presenting the best in class solution to the organization.
- Performs quarterly inventory counts
- Track and report key functional metrics to improve effectiveness
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, logistics or business administration preferred.
- 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing, required.
- 2+ years of Leadership experience highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in establishing processes and procedures required
- Experience with inventory maintenance in an ERP system, preferably Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Oracle
- Vast knowledge of reverse auctions, formal RFQ's and RFP's
- Robust judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills are also required.
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills to manage suppliers to ensure quality material, best price and timely delivery
- Knowledge of auditing and accounting principles
- Strong MS Office skills - ability to develop Excel spreadsheets and Word documents

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing department SOPs, identifying opportunities to increase efficiencies, and hiring, training, and developing the team.
