POSITION SUMMARY: Administers a variety of therapeutic procedures and agents utilized in the short and long term rehabilitation of in and out-patients (orthopedic, neurological, pulmonary, obstetrical, cardiac, medical, and surgical) referred by staff physicians, house officers, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, courtesy staff physicians, podiatrists, dentists, osteopaths; acts as the clinical specialist/committee chair/program coordinator. This person will also be providing therapy in the Corrections unit.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Strong generalist with some experience in hand therapy
Graduate of an AOTA accredited program.
Bachelor of Science Degree and/or certificate in Occupational Therapy.
AOTA registered

SKILLS / ABILITIES:

Effective communication and educator skills.
Strong orientation to patient care in accordance with the medical center's values, particularly the holistic approach to healing.
Ability to deal with stress due to a fast-paced and growing environment.
Ability to manage within a flexible schedule.
Ability to work independently and possess sound decision-making skills.
Demonstrates beginning supervisory skills.

CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE:

Massachusetts licensed or license eligible.
Current CPR certification.
