- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect test data and assist in analyzing results to assess material quality and performance, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in Material Testing: Support senior engineers in conducting tests on construction materials such as asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soil, following established procedures and protocols.
- Quality Control Support: Assist in quality control procedures during the construction process, including material sampling, testing, and inspection, to identify any deviations or defects.
- Documentation Assistance: Help maintain detailed documentation of test results, inspection reports, and other relevant documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Assist in report generation and proposal preparation.
- Collaboration and Learning: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors, learning from experienced professionals and actively contributing to project objectives.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field
- 0-2 years of professional experience
- Basic working knowledge of construction plans and specifications
- Basic working knowledge of pavement design methodology, traffic analysis and pavement condition assessments
- Excellent computer skills, with the ability to learn commercial software applications
- A willingness to obtain International Code Council (ICC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), and/or Department of Transportation (DOT) certifications in the fields of aggregate, asphalt, soil, reinforced concrete, and masonry
- Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
- Walking over rough and uneven terrain
- Standing up to 8 hours a day, up to 12 hours on occasion
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Maneuver field equipment safely on uneven ground and around active construction sites
- Traveling out-of-town (occasionally overnight) for assignments as necessary
- Working outside of normal business hours when necessary

As a Staff Pavement Engineer specializing in construction materials testing, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of pavement materials used on our construction projects. You will be responsible for conducting various tests, analyzing data, and collaborating with our construction team to uphold the highest standards of quality and performance.
