Minimum 1+ years of experience in special education is required.

Soliant Education is partnering with a school district near Addison, IL, to fill a crucial position for a Special Education Teacher. This is a full-time role working with a middle school caseload in a self-contained classroom, offering assistance to students facing moderate to severe mental and emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, and school-avoidant behaviors.

Caseload Details:

Grade Level: Middle School
Classroom Setting: Self-contained
Number of Students: Around 8 students
Disabilities: Moderate to severe mental and emotional challenges (excluding physical disabilities) including anxiety, depression, and school-avoidant/phobic behavior

Qualifications:

PEL (Professional Educator License): Must hold a valid Professional Educator License

Responsibilities:

As a Special Education Teacher, your main duties will involve:

Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Developing and implementing IEPs for students with various needs
Assessments (Evals): Performing evaluations to determine students' abilities and requirements
Direct/Indirect Services: Offering direct and indirect services to aid student development
Meetings and Consultations: Participating in meetings and collaborating with colleagues, parents, and professionals

Work Schedule:

Hours: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
