Description

The Cheerleading head coach will be responsible for attending all practices and competitions to ensure safety protocols are continually being met.

The individual will assist the cheerleading captains with choreographing routines for athletic competitions and college events. The Coach works in conjunction with mascot and campus life routinely.


  • Lead all aspects of the Sussex County Community College Cheerleading Team consisting of the cheer and dance.
  • Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the Athletic Department.
  • Monitor academic progress of Cheer student-athletes.
  • Schedule practice facilities and times.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Athletics, develop a practice schedule.
  • Provide budget recommendations to Director of Athletics and manage expenditures to stay within approved amounts.
  • Develop and implement sound disciplinary practices and policies which incorporate a high level of communication, consistency and interim sanctioning steps when appropriate
  • Ensures safety protocols are practiced at all times.
  • Attends each practice and competition.

Education:

Associate's Degree preferred.


Effective September 1, 2011, the NJ First Act requires that certain classifications of persons employed by a public higher education institution will have 365 days within which to establish a primary residence in NJ. Failure to comply will render the individual unqualified to continue to hold the position. Individuals may seek exemption from the residency exemption committee based on critical need or hardship.
