THE POSITION:

The Department of Transportation is currently looking for a Roadway Programs Technician 1 to join their team.

This role involves carrying out technical tasks to support the evaluation, examination, and enhancement of maintenance activities in alignment with the management goals and departmental guidelines within Fulton County.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


  • The role involves providing support to the Roadway Program Coordinator and Assistant County Maintenance Managers by offering technical services, managing the supply of materials, and carrying out various tasks to ensure the organization's operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Responsibilities include overseeing the invoice reconciliation process, handling bill payments, reconciling and organizing invoices, processing payments and fund commitments, as well as recording direct expenditures. Additionally, the position involves conducting research and providing information to external customers in response to inquiries related to accounts and billing. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining a spreadsheet that tracks monthly utility costs and processed expenditures, which will assist in the preparation of the overall county budget. Coordination assistance will be provided for external agreements such as winter municipal agreements, mowing and sweeping contracts, among others. Furthermore, the role includes preparing specification packets and submitting them to the District Fiscal Office, as well as reviewing contractor invoices to ensure that the work has been completed satisfactorily and that fees charged are accurate.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with a 30minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant;
    or:
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent;
    or:
  • An associate degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program;
    or:
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
