    Description
    Organizational Mechanic 2 performs aircraft maintenance involving aircraft and/or aircraft systems and components, applying technical knowledge and experience to repair aircraft discrepancies, read, write, and interpret instructions, technical manuals, and directives.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Perform assigned tasks as directed by Crew Leader, Lead man, and/or Supervisor following instructions, applicable technical data, manuals, and directives.
    • Work harmoniously with other employees to promote teamwork and cooperation.
    • Ensure proper documentation of all aircraft parts/components removed from an aircraft.
    • Evaluate aircraft discrepancies, research historical data, identify repair methods, necessary parts, materials, and tooling requirements.
    • Repair and/or replace aircraft structures and components in compliance with approved technical publications and directives.
    • Comply with established standards of workmanship, safety, quality, and production.
    • Repair engines, defective engine parts, components, and accessories.
    • Perform aircraft inventory, acceptance, and transfer inspections.
    • Operate portable fire fighting equipment.
    • Provide technical assistance and guidance for training personnel.
    Classification Qualifications:
    Knowledge: Possess expertise in Organizational Aircraft Maintenance and demonstrate understanding of technical manuals, service bulletins, and maintenance procedures.
    Education/Licenses: High school graduation or GED required. FAA A&P License preferred.
    Experience: FAA A&P License or three years of organizational aircraft maintenance experience.
    Equipment Operated: Aircraft ground servicing equipment, hand tools, power tools.
    Physical Effort: Requires various physical efforts including lifting and eye-hand coordination.
    Working Conditions: Involves diverse working conditions such as standard shop environments, inclement weather, and noise hazards.
    Potential Hazards: Exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme temperature changes, and materials identified on Safety Data Sheets.
    Work Location: Aircraft maintenance shops, hangars, flight line, with travel requirements.
