- Assist in the interactions with government and independent compliance agencies, including but not limited to FCC, FDA, UL, CSA, ETL, NSF, DOE, EPA, CPSC, and CEC.
- Reviews new products for compliance with agency requirements and recommends necessary design changes,literature, and label markings prior to agency submittal.
- Assist with agency submittal activities based on factory production and marketing schedules. Tracks status of agency investigations and responds to agency comments, questions or information requests.
- Attends industry meetings and conferences (e.g., UL STPs, EIA, AHAM, etc.) pertaining to product safety, compliance, design specifications, and new technologies.
- Assists in reviews of new/revised agency requirements and the preparation of summary reports for use by product design, engineering, and testing departments.
- Assist in supporting other groups within SEC and Sharp Japan to ensure that sourced products meet the same level of compliance as Sharp's designed and produced products.
- Assist in the collection and review of product warranty data to monitor product performance.
- Assist in the preparation of reports on issues such as product performance, parts usage, warranty claims, and other reports as required.
- Assist in product evaluations at each development phase to ensure usability, quality, safety, and serviceability prior to market launch.
- Assist in the review of operation manuals, service manuals, installation manuals, product labels, technical bulletins, etc., to ensure content is accurate.
- Assist in product incoming inspections and reworks as required.
- Assist in maintaining and ensuring data that resides in SSG database model master which feeds call center, service network and parts center systems is accurate.
- Assist in maintaining SSG's product testing lab in a clean and orderly fashion and maintain an accounting for equipment and product inventory.
- Assist in the product technical support during trade show events and market investigations.
- Analyze relative information and data in order to plan activities or make decisions.

Overview
Under the general direction of the Sr. Director and Sr. Manager, the Product Safety and Quality Engineer is responsible to assist the Sr. Product Safety Engineer on activities pertinent to the approval of Sharp products by government, state, and independent agencies to ensure compliance with legal marketing requirements. In addition, assist the Sr. Quality Engineer to ensure initial and ongoing product quality meet Sharp quality standards.

Compensation for this position
The compensation range for this role is $48,375 - $94,200. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
