General Contractor providing construction solutions for public and private sector construction projects in southern California for the past decade. We have a full-time, long-term opportunity for a dynamic, success-driven
Junior Cost Estimator to join our team
. In this role, you will provide a full range of cost control services for public and private market sector construction projects predominantly located in Southern California.


Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate projects on a prebid basis and generate necessary questions for bid walk.
• Provide a detailed review of all documentation and develop comprehensive cost estimates/models that communicate our client's project and strategic goals
• Generate prebid RFI's to send to the client and architects.
• Generate quote requirements and scope letters to send to subcontractors to obtain accurate proposals.
• Actively research, solicit, and develop sources/vendors for compiling and maintaining accuracy of cost information
• Review incoming proposals and accurately qualify bids received for materials and subcontractor services with considering all inclusions and exclusions.
• Investigate and incorporate project constraints into cost analysis
• Estimate indirect cost including management, construction equipment and tools, support facilities.
• Consults with Project managers, subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Maintain database of Subcontractors and Material Vendors.
• Review contractor and subcontractor change order estimates.

Requirements:

• 2 or more years successful estimating in public work and Private Commercial projects.
• Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications, contracts/general conditions) at all levels of design.
• Knowledge of construction industry estimating best practices, systems, tools and principles.
• Expert user of Onscreen Takeoff (OST), Blue Beam and similar industry software.
• Proficient user of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and MS Teams. Procore Certificates. Building Connected and P6 is a plus.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills and effectively communicate with the client, stakeholders, design, and construction teams.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Engineering, or Architecture or any degree with construction/designrelated experience, or 4 years additional experience in lieu of bachelor's degree.
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment as well as independently
• Ability to travel occasionally.
• Osha 10 or 30 Construction is a plus.
