Who We Are:

The Chester Children's Chorus seeks an Art Teacher for its 2024 Summer Learning Program.

Founded in 1994 by Dr.

John Alston, the Chester Children's Chorus (CCC) provides rigorous music and math education to Chester, Pennsylvania students (grades All CCC students are invited to attend the five-week CCC Summer Learning Program on the Swarthmore College campus.

Students participate in daily choral music instruction, dance, art, academic and physical education classes.


Who you are:


  • Attend precamp staff orientation.
  • Design, prepare and implement an art curriculum for three or four separate groups of middle and high schoolaged Chorus members during onehour elective courses, Monday through Thursday.
  • Prepare for and set up an exhibition of student artwork at the end of the summer program.
  • Prepare a summary report of art class activities at the end of the program.
  • The Art Teacher reports to the Managing and Education Director with added support from program staff.

What you bring:


  • At least three years experience teaching art to middle and high school aged children
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated interest and enjoyment in working with young people and supporting their healthy growth and development
  • A responsive and nurturing teaching style
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) through the Pennsylvania State Police
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA) through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services
  • FBI Criminal History Background Check (FBI Fingerprint).
