    Job Description

    The Project Engineer is responsible for the design and execution of major projects, working closely with the production, procurement, packaging engineering and R&D teams to ensure the implementation of industrial processes and equipment in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability.

    Job Skills:

    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; to create pivot tables, schedule and keep track of meetings, etc.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Experienced in conducting engineering studies
    • Very task-oriented
    • Self-starter
    • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Job Responsibilities:

    Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:

    • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
    • Conduct engineering studies to understand current capabilities in house
    • Source, evaluate and recommend top OEMs for new equipment installs.
    • Provide support to all plants for machine safety upgrades and machine training.
    • Supports design and install of capital projects at all facilities
    • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; collaborating with equipment vendors
    • Partner with Quality team to support packaging material issues with vendors and equipment OEMs
    • Provide operations team with support on existing equipment as SME and bridge to OEMs
    • All other duties as assigned

    Education: BS/BA in Engineering (or equivalent experience) Reports to: Sr. Director, Manufacturing & Engineering

    Working Location: Gurnee, Illinois Schedule: 45 hours a week

    Employment Status: Full Time Travel Required: Yes (25% - 50%)
