What you'll do...


We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Manager to oversee the operations of our Energy Center in Shafter, CA.

The Area Manager will be responsible for effectively communicating with individuals and groups, implementing business plans, monitoring, and managing productivity, maintaining quality and safety standards, addressing concerns, supervising, and developing associates and leaders, and managing daily operations and financial aspects of the energy center maintenance department.


Responsibilities:


  • Communicate with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing, including customers, suppliers, and associates.
  • Implement the business plan for the area of responsibility by effectively communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals.
  • Monitor and manage the productivity of the area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing refrigeration reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor associate compliance and distribute and maintain procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify and address associate, customer, and supplier concerns by actively listening, consulting with others when needed, and making recommendations for corrective action.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in the area of responsibility by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures. Identify training and development needs and participate in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.
  • Manage the daily operations of the energy center maintenance department by diagnosing problems, developing repair alternatives, and taking action to repair electrical systems, electronics, and other areas of the facility related to refrigeration system assets. Monitor and ensure department performance in maintaining refrigeration equipment and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Manage financial aspects as assigned and/or in the area of responsibility by monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures compared to budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing, reviewing, and analyzing refrigeration reports.
  • Drive quality and safety standards in the area of responsibility by ensuring equipment, tools, and supplies used by associates are in proper working order and readily available at the start of each work shift.
  • Investigate assetrelated incidents such as damage, physical accidents, and theft.

Advanced Experience with Ammonia Refrigeration

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the grocery industry.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Solid understanding of logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems and related equipment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to energy center maintenance operations.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
