The Molinari Juvenile Shelter (MJS) is a short-term residential program for boys and girls ages 10 to 17 who are in crisis and need temporary placement.

About This Role:
In this role, the Human Services Caseworker will guide the program in community living/group processes and track progress by engaging residents in conversation, and group interactions (structured and casual).
In addition, the incumbent, you facilitate groups to process daily goals, activities and tasks, and engage residents in the change process through structured interventions.
To be successful you will need to be able to maintain a high level of organization, professionalism and customer service
The Prince William Department of Social Services staff of over 480, serve the community through adult and child-welfare programs, public benefits distribution, and homeless prevention services.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in the human services field; or bachelor's degree in any field accompanied by a minimum of two years appropriate and related experience in a human services related area.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience working with detained juveniles in a secure facility.
- Experience performing case management.
- Experience leading educational and prosocial groups
- Experience teaching life skills, problem solving, anger management and decision making
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
75 hours every two weeks, 7.5-hour shifts, the nature of this work may require shift work on evenings, weekends and holidays, & inclement weather.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All MJS employees must pass a pre-employment physical before a final offer will be extended with Department of Social Services.
ENTRY SALARY RANGE:
$69, $95,579.50 Annually
