We are looking for a highly motivated, eager Chef de Cuisine that appreciates the outdoors and working in the elements.

We are a luxury camping retreat with an eclectic approach to dining.

We exist in both the laid back casual dining setting and the unexpected high end locally sourced farm tasting menu.

We strive to provide the unexpected, staying true to our roots while focusing on the nuance that makes for a memorable dining experience.


This role is for a well-rounded, flexible and creative culinary professional who loves to be challenged and takes ownership in all their responsibilities.

You must enjoy thinking creatively and strategically, and be willing to break the mold and approach our business through a different lens.

You enjoy collaborating, and leading and being an approachable and great communicator is a must. Flexibility and openness is critical.

You are a travel enthusiast who has a passion for the outdoors, being an engaged member of the team and about what we're building at Collective Retreats.


Seasonal Opportunity until mid November, 2024

_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Manage all aspect of kitchen operations on Retreat along with Assistant General Manager of F&B including scheduling, payroll, menu development, food ordering, and costing
  • Orders and inspects for quality of food and beverage items necessary for the production of finished menu items
  • Maintain food quality and Retreat service standards
  • Maintain budgeted labor and food costs, while controlling overtime and waste
  • Oversee's food production of all stations
  • Collaborates with Sales & Events teams to create innovative menus and excellent group guest experience
  • Assist in creating standards of operations for guests with dietary restrictions or allergens
  • Owns and maintains health inspections and preventative maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Assist in prepare all meals when necessary, and execute live finishing stations depending on outlet or group/event
  • Engage with guests and help to create an excellent experience for them
  • Purchase all necessary equipment, supplies and linen on budget, using par list and consulting with property GM
  • Maintain's inventory of all tools, equipment and dishes

_Desired Skills and Experience:
_


  • Must have a passion for working and being in the outdoors. This position is very "handson" with very little "office work." A sense of adventure is a plus
  • 4+ years as a sous chef, chef de cuisine, or executive chef (both restaurant and catering experience is desired)
  • Culinary degree a plus
  • Approachable, presentable and professional desires to create amazing experiences for our guests
  • Experience with / strong desire for gourmet outdoor cooking and locally sourced foods and menus
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic, flexible desires new challenges and is selfmotivated
  • Extremely well organized with a strong ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in remote locations with coworkers
  • Strong team player who is willing to go the extra mile to deliver great service to our guests in an adventurous outdoor setting
