Job Summary

Use electric-powered industrial trucks with lifting devices to move raw and finished products, equipment, and materials while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures.

Ensure the proper loading and unloading of materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.

It's the responsibility of the packing plant employee to observe all food safety policy, strategy and testing methodology, and standard operating procedures.

Plant employees will also maintain quality standards and ensure that production is maintained at such standards.

Seasonal-Full Time employee, pay commensurate with experience


Key Responsibilities

• Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, transports, load and unload to a designated area
• List materials and record weight, counts, and condition
• Complete daily forklift maintenance/check sheet
• Communicate with semitruck drivers to ensure safety precautions
• Monitor battery charge, maintain, and clean batteries, and leave material handling equipment at the proper charging station
• Transporting materials and finished goods throughout the facility using a lift truck.
• Qualify for and be physically able to operate a lift truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain accurate records such as: Hilo checklist, or any other documentation as needed.
• Be able to high stack product containers and stage finished goods for transfer.
• Must ensure trailers are chocked properly and that dock plates are placed in trailers properly before loading and unloading.
• Keep work area clean and clean of foreign material off the forklift you are using before the end of your shift.
• Report all damage to forklift and any other company property to your supervisor.
• Responsible for making sure your immediate forklift is full of gas and or charged for the following shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Have good attendance and work record
• Be able to work overtime and weekends
• Responsible for observing all safety rules and regulations set forth by ABR
• Will comply with all company policies; food safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Policy).
• Available to work different shifts and overtime including weekends

Qualifications and Requirements

English Spanish Bi-Lingual REQUIRED:

• Basic knowledge of Food Safety and GMP's, basic hygiene pertaining to food safety
• Strong attention to detail and instructions
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, etc. for 1012 hour shifts
• Ability to lift 35 pounds
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with other machinery and material handling equipment
• MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
• Basic math skills
• Bi-Lingual English and Spanish
• Ability to understand written and spoken instructions in English
• Ability to work in temperatures as low as 5 Fahrenheit in cold storage sites or up to 100 Fahrenheit in dry storage sites while wearing your own freezer gear and PPE as required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs/18kgs
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends and holidays; long hours may be required at times
• Must be comfortable with various noise levels, at times, can be loud
