ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works collaboratively with QI/HIM Coordinator and Team to develop and implement Continuous Quality Improvement Plan and Health Information Management Systems.
  • Understand and implement policy and guidelines/standards and support quality initiatives related to Federally Qualified Health Centers, Patient Centered Medical Homes and Meaningful Use.
  • Conduct chart reviews to assist with the monitoring and tracking of HIM systems and data quality to ensure compliance and improve data output.
  • Support processing of HEIDIS chart reviews, incoming and outgoing release of information medical record request (i.e. Subpoena's, Court Orders, investigative reports, insurance company request, Medical Examiner reports, etc.), and the management of fax inboxes, and ensuring HIPPA compliance when processing request.
  • Assist with developing and managing systems for investigating, monitoring, and tracking compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations for patient safety and compliance.
  • Facilitate HIPPA training for new and current staff.
  • Assist with data entry, data extraction, and create reports to support agency objectives, and internal management decision making processes.
  • Develop and keep a record of QI department meeting agendas, signin sheets, minutes and presentations.
  • Conduct annual patient survey and obtain monthly patient feedback to report to QI Team and Board.
  • Assist in the development of evaluation tools that will produce quantitative and qualitative data and findings to validate compliance and standards of care for services.
  • Assist with providing eClinical Works (eCW) training and responding to eCW and QI support tickets.
  • Adhere to agency policy and procedures, maintain data integrity and abide by Patient Rights, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) Privacy Standards.
  • Attend relevant meetings to support overall program implementation.
  • Attend trainings and learning opportunities that expand content knowledge and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned

HOURS OF WORK
Regular hours between 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with option of Telework (up to 50%).


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIRED:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Public Health, Social Work or other applicable field.
  • Certified HIPAA Privacy Security Expert (CHPSE) Certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Products and Electronic Health Record experience (eClinicalWorks preferred).
  • High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative and commitment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent time management skills
  • Excellent problem solving ability and data analysis skills
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize work and multitask
  • Ability to work collaboratively with providers, staff and external organizations
  • 23 years' experience with quality improvement and health information management operations
