who live with some type of behavioral health need (depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, eating disorder, substance use).

For nearly 25 years, we have provided on-site instructional services within the hospital setting, helping students to continue their academic progress during treatment and successfully reenter the classroom.

LearnWell is currently looking for our next creative and passionate teacher to fill a part time teaching position to support our students virtually.

We would love to collaborate with you and help more kids journey towards their full potential.

The teachers main responsibility is to act as an aide for the student, guiding them through educational material and ensuring their academic success.

Our teachers will be responsible to independently operate their classes within our virtual platform.

Teachers will be able to receive curriculum prior to the scheduled sessions, so there is plenty of time to prep and get prepared with the given material.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

Plan, prepare and deliver daily lesson plans and instructional material for an average of 6 students within each group
Help students oneonone if extra assistance is needed on their individual school curriculum.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, hospital and parents regarding student progress and student needs
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student

Position is for a 4 hours a day commitment, Monday-Friday, after 4:00pm teaching students virtually.

Qualifications:

B.A/B.S degree from an accredited institution
New York State Teaching Certification
Comfortable working with adolescents aged 141
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Strong organizational skills
