- Assist with daily supervision of all aquatic operations and staff.
- Ability to assist when the Aquatics/Recreation Coordinator is not available
- Responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of aquatic center, including maintaining correct water balance, documentation and preventative facility maintenance under the supervision of the Aquatics/Recreation Coordinator
- Responsible for daily training of aquatic staff and assistance with weekly in-service training.
- Responsible for patron interaction and customer service
- Attend all mandatory paid weekly in-service trainings
- Be available for a minimum of 70 work days over the course of the season
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Attend mandatory orientation
- Attend all paid pre-season training sessions
- Be at work on time for every scheduled shift
- Report to work and remain free from being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
- Wear staff uniform only while on duty
- Work weekdays, weekends and holidays
- Be willing to substitute for others
- Be willing to work together for the better of the team
- Report to the Aquatics/Recreation Coordinator
- Ability to work prior to Memorial Day weekend and weekends through the end of September preferred.

Summary
The City of University Park is currently accepting applications for Aquatic Positions. Must pass criminal background check and drug test. Ability to start work before by May 12 or before and work weekends through September preferred. Qualifications
If hired by the Parks & Recreation Department as a seasonal employee, I understand that I must adhere to and will be required to participate in the following:
Requires a minimum total of 3 years lifeguard experience including at least 1 year of head life guard experience and 2 years of lifeguard experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Must have current Lifeguard, CPR for the professional rescuer and First Aid certification through the American Red Cross. LGI (Lifeguard Instructor) certification. Experience instructing swimming lessons preferred. The Pool Manager is required to have knowledge of operation and maintenance of swimming pool equipment and local and state reporting requirements. A professional attitude is required. The applicant should possess leadership abilities, interpersonal and team work skills, analytical skills, initiative and good communication skills.
Supplemental Information
Working Conditions
Work is performed mostly outdoors and involves direct contact with the general public. The work schedule of the Aquatics Manager will include opening and closing shifts during weekdays and weekends. Holiday work is required. Work may involve being in the presence of harmful chemicals.

In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is not eligible for overtime for hours work over 40 in a designated work week.
