- Respond to requests by transportation vendor as appropriate.
- Attend bi-weekly travel interdepartmental meetings.
- Assist to resolve travel related issues with provider and/or member.
- Monitor the travel portal by vendor.
- Monitor travel escalation emails.
- Create Authorizations as needed.
- Confirm member eligibility and benefits.
- Verify appropriate information is completed on RAN documentation needed for appropriate coordination process
- Contact Provider's office to gather additional member information (if applicable) to complete request, which may include appointment check-in time, location, companions, and etc.
- Notification of travel updates as needed to member, provider and/or Health Services team staff.
- Input authorized requested services and assign authorization numbers according to plan guidelines
- Create a tracking system for member reimbursements.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, communicate and manage workload effectively and efficiently
- Communicate professionally with external and internal consumers regarding travel and clinical prior authorizations.
- Assist with preparation, tracking and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment
- Communicate regularly with other employees, managers and other designated contacts within the organization
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
- Responsible to maintain AlohaCare's confidential information in accordance with AlohaCare policies, and state and federal laws, rules and regulations regarding confidentiality. Employees have access to AlohaCare data based on the data classification assigned to this job title.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in customer service or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English.
- Equivalent combination of education, experience and credentialing.
- Requires operation of general office equipment to include; PC, fax/copy machine and ACD Mitel Phones.
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Programs; Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Achieves results, builds trust, communicate effectively, customer and quality focused.
- Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, manage a diversity of high priority projects in a fast-paced environment. Able to accept direction.

The Opportunity:
Position Summary:
The Travel Coordinator is responsible to facilitate the initial intake and processing of travel/enabling services authorization requests . The Travel Coordinator will work with clinicians (i.e. nurse, care coordinators), service providers, AlohaCare members and other internal departments to ensure access to enabling services when approved under plan benefit. Travel Coordinator must follow plan guidelines and meet required turnaround times. Will be responsible for a varied workload and provides administrative support in the most efficient, accurate, and professional manner possible. Position requires the use of judgment and initiative to determine approach or action for necessary non-routine situations.
