    Everstaff is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate for a prominant law firm in the Grand Rapids area.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations pertinent to individuals and businesses engaged in litigation.
    • Cultivate and foster new client relationships, demonstrating adeptness in generating business opportunities.
    • Effectively manage both new and existing client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
    • Conduct thorough research and prepare detailed memos for senior partners.
    • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and attention to detail.
    • Attend various legal proceedings, including motion hearings, evidentiary hearings, mediations, and depositions.
    • Assist in all aspects of discovery, encompassing drafting requests and responses, preparing initial disclosures, and facilitating witness preparation.
    • Collaborate with partnerlevel attorneys to strategize document production, select vendors, and determine manner of production.
    • Organize, review, and maintain case documents, supervising or coordinating coding efforts and the development of litigation support tools.
    • Analyze documents for responsiveness to discovery requests, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
    • Monitor the status and completeness of discovery responses, maintaining meticulous records.
    • Prepare and assemble deposition, trial, and motion exhibits, ensuring clarity and relevance.
    • Index and summarize deposition testimony and exhibits for efficient reference.
    • Gather impeaching materials for adverse experts, including prior testimony, transcripts, and relevant publications.
    • Prepare trial materials and provide assistance during pretrial, trial, and posttrial proceedings.



    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


    • Possess superior intellect and demonstrate a keen grasp of complex legal issues, as evidenced by outstanding academic performance and/or relevant work experience.
    • Exhibit a strong work ethic and willingness to devote necessary time and effort to complete tasks.
    • Possess excellent organizational and project management skills to effectively handle multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
    • Proficient in utilizing online legal research services and resources.
    • Showcase superior legal writing skills and effective oral communication abilities.
    • Demonstrate sound judgment and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Exhibit expertise in various legal concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders as a proactive team member.
    • Adaptability to evolving environments and situations, coupled with a proven ability to thrive in fastpaced settings.
    • Familiarity with document/discovery databases such as Relativity.



    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR TRAINING:


    • Possess 37 years of experience in handling complex commercial litigation matters.
    • Graduate of an accredited law school.
    • Admission to practice law in the State of Michigan or eligibility for admission upon commencement of employment.
