SCHEDULE:
__Seasonal Apr-Jun _
_/ __Full time or part time / Flexible schedule_

_

BASIC FUNCTION:
__ Responsible for plant merchandising, plant care, and customer service in the greenhouse department_

_

RESPONSIBILITIES:
_
- _Interacts in a positive, pleasant and prompt manner with customers in person and on the telephone_
- _Provides the highest level possible of service to all customers _
- _Provides advice and guidance to customers related to plant choices and care_
- _Assists with questions regarding inventory, pricing, and promotions_
- _Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the products sold, product usage, product prices and new products_
- _Ensures products are displayed effectively with direction from the Greenhouse Lead and Branch Manager_
- _Attends and participates in all company-sponsored training programs as required_
- _Promotes team concept_
- _Inspects plants to assess quality and identify signs of disease or pests_
- _Assists with incoming shipments of stock, following proper paperwork protocols_
- _Communicates with Greenhouse lead to exchange all relevant information_

_Required Skills/Abilities:
_
- _Excellent verbal and written communication skills._
- _Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills._
- _Understanding of plants and their care and growing conditions needs._

_Education and Experience:
_
- _Prior experience with plant care preferred, but not required_
- _High school diploma or equivalent preferred_

_Physical Requirements:
_
- _Prolonged periods of walking, standing, lifting, and moving items_
- _Exposure to indoor and outdoor working environments for long periods, including inclement weather_
- _Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time._
- _Must be able to push, pull, bend, lift, stretch in order to care for plants and arrange them within the nursery_
