- Lead development of category plans in operational areas that support business goals and plans, are commercially strong and demonstrate insight based on strong analysis of BNA needs and supplier markets. Strategies may include development and execution of RFPs, negotiation, make/buy analysis, etc.
- Input to S&OP+ business Step 3 processes as required for Supply Planning and provide procurement cost and delivery inputs to the new business planning and budgetary processes.
- Lead end to end supplier activities, including sourcing, supplier management, and supplier contractual and performance negotiations for responsible areas.
- Deliver expected annual PPV results committed in category plan in a timely fashion. Provide accurate project tracking and results reporting including regular or periodic communications.
- Lead supplier performance management reporting meetings, and lead implementation of delivery timing, forecast feasibility and cost outcomes. Builds strategic supplier relationships that deliver competitive advantage to BNA.
- Manage operational risks and communicate/escalate as appropriate.
- Contribute to the development and use of procurement policies and processes.
- Ensure BNA is taking optimum advantage of its global supply market knowledge and the Procurement team's experience through knowledge capture and sharing. Lead team brainstorming as a method of problem-solving.
- Build trusted relationships with operational teams and be involved in all stages of supplier activities. Be viewed as the "go to" person for knowledge of suppliers, purchased category markets and insights on how BNA can deliver best value for the business.
- Work effectively with regional/global counterparts to ensure the BNA team can deliver best value in operational categories and share knowledge across areas.
- Provide support to operational and end user colleagues in understanding and executing their role and accountabilities in managing suppliers.
- Apply market intelligence effectively in all procurement activities and apply all pertinent technologies.
- Assumes Senior Category Manager's duties as required.
- Will be assigned other projects or duties as needed.
- Procure raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, equipment and services for responsible category areas.
- Supply sourcing agreements over the 0-3 yr. planning/sourcing horizon
- Monitor in conjunction with Supply Planning production plans and material inventories to ensure optimization and cash delivery.
- Assist in planning for new product introduction ingredient sourcing and other materials
- Measure and evaluate supplier performance for assigned categories for PPV and other forms of financial rebates
- Analyze and recommend sourcing actions to improve profitability/earnings
- Risk mitigations for inflationary pressures developed in conjunction with Supply Planning and S&OP+.
- Monitor supplier performance and course correct for poorly performing suppliers.
- Development of optimum Supply Chain lead-times, material obsolescence and purchases
- Research supplier base to consider external planning performance benchmarks, new supplier evaluation for cost improvement over time
- Develop strategies for future business sourcing capacity needs and lead-time management to ensure minimal production schedule changes
- Establish and publish monthly supplier performance reports and maintain associated dashboards/metrics for assigned categories
- Analyse, study, and interpret procurement performance of supplies to factories/production lines within BNA
- Maintain tight and timely communication links to and from the plants and provide communications to business teams for procurement market volatility and ingredient availability which can affect production schedules and customer deliveries
