    Description

    We're looking for an enthusiastic Senior Category Manager to lead our grocery departments at our company. The chosen candidate should have a solid grasp of customer preferences, market trends, and industry dynamics to boost growth and profits in these product categories.

    This position is based in the Greater Bowling Green Area with relocation support available for the top candidate.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement category strategies to hit sales and margin goals, while improving the overall product range and customer satisfaction.
    • Conduct in-depth market analysis, covering competitive comparisons, pricing evaluations, and consumer insights, to pinpoint growth chances and risks.
    • Work closely with various teams, such as marketing, sales, procurement, and product development, to devise and execute effective marketing initiatives, product launches, and stock planning.
    • Handle vendor partnerships and negotiate beneficial deals, covering pricing, sales conditions, and promotional aid, to maximize profits and ensure product availability.
    • Track and assess category performance indicators, like sales figures, market shares, and stocks, to pinpoint areas for enhancement and apply necessary corrective measures.
    • Keep updated on industry trends, regulatory shifts, and new technologies to spot opportunities and risks in the category early on.
    • Provide expert advice on canned goods, sugar, and salad dressing divisions, offering insights and suggestions to senior management and other involved parties as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
    • Have at least 8 years of experience in category management, product management, or comparable positions in the food and beverage sector.
    • Possess strong analytical capabilities to decipher intricate data and make informed decisions based on it.
    • Exhibit outstanding communication and relational skills, able to collaborate effectively with various departments and external partners.
    • Demonstrate a history of creating and executing successful category strategies that boost sales and profits.
    • Show the capacity to excel in a fast-paced, changing environment and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
