    Description


    The Senior Electrical Engineer is considered an expert in the design, development and commercialization of electronics across multiple industries and responsible for the development of electronic hardware designs using ECAD tool for the development of schematics, PCBA documentation supporting products development.

    This individual is also responsible for architecture, design, analysis, prototype debug, test planning, testing and quality assurance.

    The person provides technical leadership to the department and often is called upon to resolve complex design and system issues.

    BGM is a part of Exponential Technology Group (XTG).XTG is part of the TTI Family of Companies and is a specialist in the electronic component distribution and design engineering services industries.

    This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Engineering.
    This position will be onsite in Auburn Hills, MI. ACCOUNTABILITIESFormulate and define system scope and objectives to develop software, electronics hardware and firmware for complex systems.
    Analyze circuit performance, circuit simulation expertise, Worst Case Circuit analysis expertise and put into practice.
    Utilize schematic capture tools and computer simulation to create designs for complex systems.
    Use electronic test equipment such as emulators, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
    Prepare feasibility analysis, cost estimates and detailed specifications from which electronic and software designs may be executed.
    Utilize vendor resources to incorporate the latest technology in new designs.
    Responsible for adhering to and augmenting when appropriate company development and quality standards.
    Code, test, debug and maintain embedded software and embedded support software.
    Analyze, test, debug and maintain electronics hardware.
    Work at the highest technical level on complex applications.
    May lead small teams in the execution of design activities. Provide mentoring and coaching to less experienced engineering team members.

    Review designs of other engineers for compliance with company quality standardsAdditional duties as assignedEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with an Advanced degree strongly preferred and ten or more years' experience in electronics development required.

    Multiple product release completion (multiple customers) experience required.
    SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONSSchematic Capture and PCB Layout expertiseComponent expertiseContinuously aware of new technologies as they relate to emerging technologiesCircuit simulation expertiseEMC design, testing and issue resolution expertiseDigital Electronic Development Skills, including Microprocessors and MicrocontrollersFirmware Development Skills
    • Capable of making changes and guiding development of firmware as it relates to system performanceSystem and circuit diagnostic tool experience expert level (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, In Circuit Debuggers, etc.)
    Communication bus expertise (CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet, etc.)Electronics manufacturing processes and equipment advanced knowledge in order to troubleshoot quality issues and warranty returnsKnowledge of Problem-Solving methods (Red X, Six Sigma, 8D, etc.)Review and Analysis of data from capability studiesAbility to statistically analyze data.
