    Description


    The Prototype Build Calibration Engineer is responsible for performing and coordinating propulsion system calibration (MCP/EVCU) debugging and investigating calibration issues on pre-production vehicles.

    The scope of responsibility spans the full capability of the integrated controls and ePT system hardware of the core BEV PRS modules (supervisory controller, electric motor controller(s) and integrated charging module controller).The calibrator will interface with the vehicle build team, EE triage and ePT triage teams to compile and track a list of critical vehicle issues that require the input of the calibration team to resolve.

    They will provide an initial assessment of each issue including data collection, data analysis, a documentation of issues to the BEV application calibration team and will coordinate the implementation of fixes to the vehicle.

    This individual will have also demonstrated the ability to work with others and must have an ability to communicate updates both verbally and in writing.

    They must be a team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments versus personal achievement.
    REQUIREMENTSBachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degreeExpertise with Automotive CAN communication.

    Basic understanding of Power Electronics, Hybrid Vehicle Architecture and Power flowPrior intern experience in the area of powertrain development, Propulsion system controls and/or calibration.

    Experience with Microsoft OfficeOutstanding problem solving and analytical skillsAttention to detailGood teamwork skills and ability to work independentlyEffective communication and interpersonal skillsGood interpersonal relationshipAbility to work as a teamConflict and crisis managementPREFERRED REQUIREMENTSMaster of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university5+ years experience - Looking for an experienced personKnowledge of statistics and statistical methodsKnowledge of software and equipment for engine calibration, MATLAB, measurement and analysis (Inca-Etas / Horiba / Vector)

    Experience with Matlab scripting and other useful data processing languages/tool sets ex:
    Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, etc...

    Experience with Formula SAEAdditional Must HAVESLocation:
    Chrysler Technical Center (Auburn Hills, MI)Position requires the person to be 100% onsite.

    (not a hybrid position)Expert in CANalyzer -vehicle CAN communicationETAS/INCA experiencePast experience working on hybrid or Electric vehicle architectureWORK ENVIRONMENTDriving a Company Vehicle is RequiredTravel - 10% or even less.

    Primary work location is in Auburn Hills, MITravel to Chelsea, MI to the proving grounds) as needed (1-2 times a month)Windsor, Ontario, Canada assembly plant
