We currently have a great opportunity for a Litigation Secretary based in our Los Angeles office.

The Litigation Secretary will be responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support for a team of attorneys/paralegals This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of legal documents and correspondence, client billing, timekeeping, expense reports, closing binders, court filings, client interference, scheduling meetings, conferences, depositions, travel arrangements, answering phones, file maintenance, and a wide variety of other clerical duties as needed.

What You'll Do

  • Schedule and arrange meetings, depos and conferences/teleconferences, coordinate travel arrangements, and perform other duties related to maintaining attorneys' schedule.
  • Prepare and review legal documents to ensure they are in proper format and contain all necessary portions of related documents for court appearances.
  • Prepare new client information for opening of and maintenance of new files/matters.
  • File legal documents with proper courts, prepare trial notebooks and exhibit listings for meetings, court appearances and hearings.
  • Input timekeeping information for attorney, paralegal and self; prepare expense reports and coordinate billing procedures including invoicing as required.
  • Prepare litigation legal binders and assembles final client documents.
  • In addition to the above, assist with special projects, related essential functions/duties, and assist Overflow Resources when needed.

Requirements:


  • High School diploma or equivalent, with additional training in Word Processing
  • Minimum of 25 years prior legal experience required
  • Knowledge of legal phrases, terminology, and procedures required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Experience with document management systems such as iManage, Elite 3E, Excel and PowerPoint a plus

Compensation

  • Salary to be based upon experience and education; we're targeting between $70,000$85,000 annual
  • We offer comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision as well as 401(k) and generous vacation time.
