    Job Title: Physician Assistant

    Location: St. Cloud VA Medical Center, St. Cloud, Minnesota

    Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our healthcare team at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center in beautiful St. Cloud, Minnesota. As a PA, you will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional medical care to our nation's veterans. This position offers a unique opportunity to serve those who have served our country while enjoying the supportive environment and resources of the VA healthcare system.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
    2. Formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans for acute and chronic medical conditions in collaboration with the supervising physician.
    3. Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures as necessary for patient evaluation and management.
    4. Provide patient education on disease prevention, health maintenance, and medication management.
    5. Perform minor surgical procedures, such as wound care, incision and drainage, and suture removal, under the guidance of the supervising physician.
    6. Assist in the management of complex medical cases, including coordination of care with specialists and ancillary services.
    7. Document patient encounters accurately and comprehensively in the electronic medical record system.
    8. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient care outcomes.
    9. Adhere to all VA policies, procedures, and standards of practice, including compliance with regulatory requirements and professional ethical standards.
    10. Engage in continuous professional development through participation in continuing education activities, conferences, and professional organizations.

    Qualifications:

    1. Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
    2. Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in any US State.
    3. Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
    4. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in primary care or internal medicine.
    5. Experience working with veterans or in a VA healthcare setting is desirable but not required.
    6. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    7. Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
    8. Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technology.
    9. Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care with compassion and empathy.
    10. Ability to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
