Lead, Assembler

1st Shift

Position Summary:


The function of the Assembly Lead is to effectively lead a group of assemblers within the assembly operation under the direction of the assembly manager or supervisor in a progressive build environment.


Job Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Support area manager in establishing standards, methods, and process as required.
  • Oversee assemblers and assembly process in pursuit of overall quality and cost reduction with adherence to established standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Make suggestions for overall product quality and cost improvements.
  • Oversee area operations in the absence of the factory manager.

Education and/or Experience:


  • Minimum of General Education Diploma extra schooling in related fields preferred; 2+ years in high power assembly environment.
  • Good communication skills; Must be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Some lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in bring up of new assembly lines preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard assembly tools, including air tools, electric drivers, torque tools and crimp tools.
  • Workers are expected to help meet and exceed predetermined daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.
  • Experience with standard office computer programs to record assembly activities and reference assembly instructions.
  • Experience dealing with multiple simultaneous tasks and requirements.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to follow established safety procedures.
  • Some travel may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
