Overview - Henry's Sober Living Houses' (HSLH) mission is to help men reclaim their lives from the disease of addiction and to help reduce the incidence of addiction in future generations. We are an organization committed to providing quality alcohol and other drug treatment and supportive services to men with substance use and co-occurring problem areas.


The Halfway House Manager provides the overall management of HSLH residential treatment facility and the clinical supervision of the staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage 16-bed residential treatment facility, ensuring 24-hour staff coverage, and provide leadership. Work with the Associate & Clinical Director to develop creative quality programming that is culturally sensitive, utilizes evidence-based models, and reflects best practices in the fields of addictions and mental health treatment. Coordinate referrals and assessments, and facilitate the admissions and intake process. Maintain communication with referral sources. Implement program activities and strategies to meet the needs of clients, consistent with the agency's philosophy and values, and monitor quality and effectiveness of activities. Supervise, develop and train, and evaluate Halfway House staff. Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, procedures and regulations as determined by all regulatory and funding agencies and by HSLH, including the Department of Health, Division of Drug and Alcohol Program Licensure; DHS and related departments; other managed care organizations; and the criminal justices system. Monitor compliance with HSLH Quality Assurance Plan and make certain that all record keeping is current, complies with all standards, and reflects quality care. Maintain the program at capacity and work with the Henry's House team and the Director to address issues related to utilization. Monitor data collection and submission of timely and accurate information used for billing and outcomes measurement purposes. Serve as an ambassador of HSLH and maintain collaborative relationships with the Cook County community and with health, behavioral health and human service agencies in the region. Monitor maintenance of the facility and work with Maintenance Manager to ensure the health and safety of clients and staff, as well as to comply with state, county and local requirements. Work with the Administrative Assistant and other staff to coordinate meal service/ preparation and purchasing. Develop and monitor clients' roles in completing housekeeping assignments to maintain the agency's standards as they relate to creating a safe and healing environment. Implement the program within the budget and monitor Halfway House expenses. Participate in on-call rotation. Participate in all staff development and training as required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • High school diploma, experience in a drug and alcohol or mental health setting, of which have been in a supervisory capacity, and experience in a residential setting. Understanding of residential operations; ability to balance clinical supervision with facility management. Excellent communication skills. Support Henry's Sober Living Houses' mission and philosophy; demonstrate cultural sensitivity and workplace harmony. Value and exhibit excellent customer service. Basic computer skills. Ability to obtain NCRS Certification (Employees monetary responsibility)
  • Valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work flexible and non-traditional hours as needed to provide coverage in crisis situations, and to work the hours necessary to complete the work. Ability to climb stairs and to lift light boxes of office supplies.

Salary:
$13.50 /hour


Required Certification:
National Certified Recovery Specialist (NCRS)

Certification is not needed at time of employment. But is required to be obtained within 1 year. The cost to acquirer certification is the responsibility of the employee
