    We are on the lookout for a skilled Security Operations Engineer to strengthen our company's IT defenses. Your main tasks will involve setting up and maintaining firewall systems, ensuring adherence to security protocols, conducting security assessments, and proposing enhancements. Proficiency in cybersecurity, firewall technologies, and regulatory standards is a must. Priority will be given to candidates with a Top Secret security authorization.

    Required Experience:

    • At least 8 years of experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or similar domains.
    • A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience configuring and managing firewall technologies, such as carrier-grade Checkpoint Firewalls, Palo Alto, and Network Security Policy Management.
    • Robust understanding of security operations, encompassing firewall regulations and security policies.
    • Sound networking skills and familiarity with firewall platforms to expedite issue identification and resolution during emergencies.
    • Proficiency in RMF and NIST SP Rev 4/5, including comprehensive knowledge of RMF accreditation packages and all stages of the RMF process.
    • Familiarity with cyberattack methodologies and the capability to adjust security processes and tools to evolving landscapes and risk scenarios.
    • Competence in Checkpoint firewall hardware configurations, iBoss Cloud IPS and IDS setups, and SSLV Symantec security application.
    • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively in a dynamic setting while maintaining top-notch customer service aptitude.
    • Proficient in simplifying complex policies and protocols for easy understanding.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in ensuring compliance with security protocols and crafting/updating IT security documentation.
    • Proficient in planning and executing security assessments for alterations impacting hardware, software, baselines, connections, or applications.
    • Background in coordinating with personnel to strategize and execute new firewall setups, enhancements, and features.
    • Competence in aiding the management of firewalls, including updates, upgrades, policy management, and validation.
    • Knowledge of conducting security tasks such as vulnerability scans and log upkeep.
    • Ability to implement client alterations in alignment with existing policies.
    • Experience managing and fine-tuning additional software elements linked to firewall structures (IPS, URL, Application Control, AV, Advanced Malware detection).
    • Understanding of industry best practices, NIST SP 80053, and organizational security regulations to pinpoint deficiencies in the security framework and propose remedies.
    • Capability to suggest strategies for enhancing security infrastructure effectively and efficiently.
    • Proficient in explaining new security requisites to team members and associates to facilitate implementation.
    • Availability to work beyond standard business hours for outage resolution, scheduled maintenance, or upgrades.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure adherence to security guidelines, update IT security documents, provide status reports, briefings, timelines, and project blueprints in written format.
    • Develop and implement security assessments for alterations affecting hardware, software, baselines, connections, or applications.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to strategize and implement new firewall setups, upgrades, and features as needed.
    • Assist in managing all firewall systems, including updates, upgrades, policy management, and validation.
    • Execute other security-related duties, such as vulnerability assessments and log maintenance.
    • Support in implementing client alterations in compliance with existing policies.
    • Review and update documentation to ensure consistency with current procedures.
    • Handle and optimize additional software components associated with firewall systems (IPS, URL, Application Control, AV, Advanced Malware detection).
    • Follow best practices, NIST SP 800-53, and organizational security policies to identify shortcomings in the security setup and propose resolutions.
    • Provide recommendations for streamlining the company's security infrastructure effectively.
    • Explain new security requisites to team members and contractors for seamless implementation.
    • Be available outside regular business hours for outage resolution, scheduled maintenance, or upgrades.
    • Perform other relevant tasks as assigned.

    Educational Criteria: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field
